Luxury Jeweller Cartier’s Exclusive Sponsorship of LQP Festival 2017

Internationally acclaimed luxury jeweller, Cartier, has been announced as one of the sponsors of South Africa’s biggest horseracing events, the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate, the inaugural two-day festival which will take place on 6-7 January, 2017, at Kenilworth Racecourse, Cape Town.

Guaranteeing a weekend of equestrian achievement and off-track elegance, sponsorship of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate is a testimony to the Maison Cartier’s enthusiasm for the sport’s excellence and skill, values that have always driven the Maison.

“Cartier is honoured to be sponsoring the inaugural L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate for the second consecutive year. L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate continues to mirror Cartier’s ideals and values of elegance, passion, excellence, talent and respect. The 2017 two-day festival is sure to be the best yet,” says Alessandro Patti, Managing Director of Cartier Africa.

Prizes by Cartier will be presented to the Best Dressed Lady, Best Dressed Man and Best Hat for both Friday and Saturday’s competitions, and will include a Mini C de Cartier handbag, a Trinity Bracelet, cufflinks, a Must de Cartier wallet, cashmere scarves and other exclusive creations.

Cartier joins other key sponsors – Glorious Goodwood, Drakenstein Stud, Anthonij Rupert Wyne, and the Franschhoek Motor Museum – all of whom bring their own rich history and heritage to the event. SKYY Vodka, BMW, Red Bull, Peroni, and Roses, meanwhile, will also be back for another year at LQP’s various marquees and entertainment areas.

The inaugural LQP Festival 2017 is set to be a formidable combination of glamour and exhilarating equine excellence, featuring a stellar card of 18 races, including the coveted Cartier Politician Stakes on Saturday the 7th and the Cartier Sceptre Stakes, taking place on Friday the 6th of January.

Further cementing the race’s global status on Saturday, are the acclaimed Maine Chance Farms Paddock Stakes (Grade 1), the only South African races which allow their winners entry into the elite Breeders’ Cup Mile in the USA, as well as the Glorious Goodwood Peninsula Stakes (Grade 2).

After the dust has settled on the track, the action will move to the stylish Stud Club where chart-topping sounds will electrify the dance-floor during the LQP after-party.
